"Caring for animals is a family tradition handed down and improved upon from generation to generation"
We firmly believe there's nothing like adding some little furry friends to make a farm feel like a farm. We have added some faces around the barnyard, and we thought it would be nice to introduce them to you so you can get to know them all.
The first members of our barnyard clan joined the farm back in August. They're our Brown Swiss cows named Gus and Gertie. They are very affectionate and let us know they're around with their loud moo's each morning, I have some major lash envy when it comes to the big brown eyes and super long lashes.
Next to join the roster are our adorable Dorper sheep, Max, and Millie. These two were shy and required tons of our time in the barnyard. They needed to get to know their new shepherd and learn to trust me. They also were great escape artists and tested this farmgirl's patience when they tried to become squatters at the neighboring ranch. Thank heavens for nice and very patient neighbors.
We recently added two little dwarf goats to the mix, Mr. Chip and Miss Charlotte. We had two failed attempts with two precious female goats who went over the rainbow bridge. Sadly, it's all part of the farm life experience. These two cuties have adjusted well and have been a very welcoming addition.
We have three cats, Cloudy who came with us from our old farm, Lula and Cleo who are new to the mix. They have kept the mouse population under control and tend to leave their prizes in my boots.
One of the newest additions here at Maple Creek has been the two new puppies, Mack and Maggie. They have been a welcome ball of energy around here. They will also help to keep away the unwanted predators that wander in.
We are very thankful for our new farm and are very happy to call it home! So many of you have been following along through the whole process as we have added animals, put in new gardens, and made changes to the home. We are so grateful for each of you and glad to have you here as part of the Maple Creek family!
Thank you for stopping by today and taking the time to read my latest post. I hope this has brought you a little joy seeing all of our new furry friends.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
